When Choosing a Dentist - Choose Wisely.
Ask friends, neighbors, co-workers. Be sure to inquire as to:
a) Availability — Will they be there when you need them?
b) Area(s) of expertise — It’s very difficult to be a GOOD General Dentist. Ask what their “fortes” may be: Do they place implants? Do they do Orthodontics? Endodontics (Root Canals)? Periodontics? Or...
c) Do they recognize advanced cases and refer those patients who need it to Specialists? Do they have a good rapport with those Specialists? Do they refer specifically? Do they give you a NAME, not just a specialty? That is, when a referral is necessary they should say: “Please see Dr. Jones,” not “It’d be good for you to see an Endodontist.”
d) Are they “up-to-date,” constantly, improving their skills for your benefit? Dentistry is constantly changing/improving. Does this Dentist frequently attend Continuing Education Courses? Does he/she keep up with the latest technology?
Luckily Aberdeen has a number of such Dentists. We’re fortunate to be able to see many of Dr. Opp’s patients, and I can vouch for the fact that he meets the above criteria and will do an excellent job for you. You will have chosen wisely!
